How buyers typically engage

These are illustrative scenarios — not client cases. They show the kinds of situations where a China-based partner can save time and reduce risk.

Scenario 01

A buyer looking for a Chinese supplier

A buyer needs help finding a Chinese manufacturer for a product category they have not sourced from China before.

How Charmmy supports:

  • Supplier research across the relevant product category
  • Initial information review on shortlisted candidates
  • Communication assistance for the first round of inquiries
Scenario 02

A buyer checking a supplier

A buyer has been approached by (or found) a Chinese supplier and wants more information before committing money or sharing product designs.

How Charmmy supports:

  • Background review of the supplier’s registration and history
  • Risk notes — what is confirmed, what is not, what to ask
  • Plain-English summary of available public information
Scenario 03

A buyer coordinating a first order

A buyer has placed a first order and wants local coordination during production — specifications confirmed, progress followed up, pre-shipment questions answered.

How Charmmy supports:

  • Written communication with the supplier in Chinese
  • Status updates on production milestones
  • Coordination on packaging, labeling and pre-shipment checks
Scenario 04

A buyer comparing two suppliers

A buyer has two candidates that look similar on paper and needs an independent comparison before deciding.

How Charmmy supports:

  • Side-by-side research brief on each candidate
  • Comparison on the dimensions that matter to the buyer
  • A short list of questions to put to each supplier

If any of these sound like your situation, tell me about it.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Straight answers about how I work — including what I don’t do.

Do you sell products directly?
No. Charmmy is a service, not a product seller. I help you find suppliers, verify them and coordinate your procurement in China. The buying decisions, supplier contracts and payments remain yours — which is exactly why my advice stays on your side of the table.
Can you find suppliers in China?
Yes — that is the core service. Send your product, specifications, quantity and requirements, and I research the supply market, screen candidates and deliver a shortlist with findings and reasoning for each supplier. See Supplier Sourcing.
Can you verify Chinese suppliers?
Yes. I review business registration, identity, standing, export record and any publicly visible signals of capability. I report confirmed facts, unconfirmed claims and risk indicators — and I don’t promise to eliminate all risk. See Supplier Verification.
What does Procurement Support actually cover?
Writing, translating and following up with Chinese suppliers on your behalf. Specification clarifications, sample coordination, production milestones, pre-shipment checks. See Procurement Support.
What is Supplier Research for?
When you have a supplier (or two or three) and want a clear, written research brief — public footprint, registration, what they claim vs what is verifiable, what is missing. See Supplier Research.
Can you work with an existing supplier?
Yes. Many engagements start with verifying or coordinating an existing supplier relationship — checking the company, following up production, or being your escalation point in China. You don’t need to switch suppliers to work with me.
Can you negotiate prices?
Yes, as part of sourcing and order coordination. More importantly, I make quotations comparable — clarifying what is included and excluded — so you know whether a price is actually good. I will tell you when a target price is unrealistic rather than waste your time chasing it.
Do you charge sourcing fees?
Yes. Sourcing projects, verification work and coordination engagements are quoted based on scope and complexity. I don’t hide fees inside product prices or take undisclosed commissions from factories. Each project gets a written proposal with the fee structure before any work begins.
Can you handle samples?
I coordinate sample requests and shipping. Sample costs and courier charges are paid by the buyer. I keep the whole process documented in writing.
Can you source custom products?
Yes. OEM and custom-manufactured products built to your drawings or samples are a core use case. The more precise your drawings or reference samples, the better the results. I confirm specifications in writing with the supplier before production starts.
Can you work with small quantities?
Sometimes. It depends on the product category — some Chinese suppliers work comfortably with small orders, others have MOQs that make small volumes uneconomical. Send me your quantity and I will tell you honestly whether it fits before you spend anything.
What information do you need from buyers?
For sourcing: product name and description, specifications (drawings, photos or samples help), quantity, target price, packaging, certifications, destination country and target delivery time. For verification: the supplier’s name, website, contact details and what you already know. The sourcing request form covers all of it.
What can’t you do?
I’m not a manufacturer, a marketplace, a logistics company, a certification body, an inspection agency or a government-backed organization. I can’t guarantee suppliers’ future performance, can’t compel disclosure of non-public records, and won’t claim to eliminate all procurement risk. What I can do is gather verifiable information, coordinate execution in China, and give you honest findings — including the uncomfortable ones.
How fast do you reply?
Within one business day, China Standard Time (UTC+8). I work directly on every project, so replies are from me, not a team.
Where are you based?
Henan, China. I work with international buyers across all time zones.
